Maaike de Graaf (pronounced 'Mike-uh') is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and founder of Bytown Counselling. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in Clinical Psychology at Leiden University in The Netherlands (MSc in Clinical Psychology, Cum Laude, 2010).
She has continued to develop her skills in her work with children, adolescent, and adult clients with anxiety, depression, suicidal and self-harm behaviours, substance use, trauma, and personality disorders. Maaike integrates aspects of a variety of techniques into her practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory.
Maaike is passionate about psychotherapy and offering accessible, tailored services to meet individuals' unique needs and circumstances. She is committed to promoting emotional and psychosocial wellbeing, psychological flexibility and empowering individuals through developing resilience, mindfulness, self-awareness and balance.
